We danced
O how we danced
Round and round
And round again
Stars sang
Crickets kept time
And night gave way
To day
While we danced.
I'd heard the stories
I knew better
But we'd danced
And I was thirsty.
I took a sip
Only a drop
Too much.
I see the woods
With fairy eyes
And though I've got no wings
I feel the woods
As fairies do
And I hear it when it sings
We danced
O how we danced
Round and round
And round again
Then I paused to have a drink
Now I'm cursed to see as
Fairies do
And never leave their rings.
